Why track MHT (HRT) at all?

MHT (HRT) often comes with a settling-in period, and finding the right type, dose, and route can take a few adjustments. Memory is a poor record of that: by your review appointment, the first weeks have blurred together. A tracker lines up what you took, when it changed, and how your symptoms moved, which makes the conversation with your clinician specific. It does not replace that conversation, and no app should tell you to change a dose.

What to look for in an HRT tracker

  • Every route you might use: patches, gels, sprays, pills, and progesterone, cyclical or continuous.
  • Dose-change history, not just today's dose, so before and after are visible.
  • Symptom ratings alongside the regimen, so you can see whether a change helped.
  • A report or export for your review appointment.
  • Lab results, if your clinician orders bloods, kept next to your regimen.

The apps

Crest

Tracks a long list of MHT (HRT) medications and supplements with dose changes, shows symptom patterns across your cycle and treatment, and prepares GP visit reports. HRT tracking is free.

Attune

Built around hot flashes and MHT (HRT): logs hot flashes, tracks doses across patches, gels, pills, and cyclical progesterone, sends reminders, shows Apple Health sleep and heart data, and makes a PDF for your doctor. It skips cycle setup, with an optional bleeding log.

HRTMe

A companion for women on HRT with medication reminders, mood and symptom tracking, and data sharing with your doctor, on iPhone and Apple Watch.

Phaes

Free MHT (HRT) tracking for your regimen and every change to it, next to free symptom, cycle, and lab tracking, plus a periodic check-in on how it is going and a symptom-score review over the weeks that follow. With Insights you get a doctor-ready report. Phaes is informational: it does not use your regimen to make medical suggestions. If you train, see running and MHT (HRT) and MHT (HRT) and endurance training.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best app to track HRT?

Crest, Attune, HRTMe, and Phaes all track MHT (HRT). Crest and Phaes track dose changes over time and have free HRT tracking; Attune focuses on hot flashes and reminders; Phaes adds free lab tracking and an optional adaptive training plan.

Should I change my HRT dose based on my tracker?

No. A tracker gives you and your clinician a clearer picture, but dose and type decisions belong with your clinician. Bring the record to your review appointment instead of self-adjusting.

How long should I track after starting HRT?

Many clinicians review a new regimen after around three months, so tracking from before you start through that first review shows the clearest before and after. Keep logging after any later change too.
